
Dr. Nirav Mehta is a founding partner of Peak Heart & Vascular and a board-certified cardiologist with over a decade of experience practicing interventional cardiology in the Phoenix metropolitan area and northern Arizona. He is known for his advanced expertise in structural and interventional cardiology, providing innovative, patient-centered care for complex cardiovascular conditions.
Dr. Mehta earned his medical degree from Pramukh Swami Medical College in India before completing his internal medicine residency at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He then pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, followed by an advanced interventional cardiology fellowship at Winthrop University Hospital in Long Island, New York.
Dr. Mehta has extensive experience in performing structural heart and complex coronary interventions. His expertise includes transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), left atrial appendage occlusion (Watchman), and atrial septal defect (ASD) closure. He is also highly skilled in complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including treatment of chronic total occlusions, bifurcated lesions, and multivessel coronary disease, particularly in patients considered high-risk for surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mehta is actively involved in cardiovascular research and has authored more than 20 scholarly articles, with half published as first author, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of interventional cardiology through evidence-based innovation and education.
Dr. Mehta is board-certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine. He is dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive cardiovascular care and improving outcomes for patients across the region.
