Dr. Nirav Mehta is a founding partner of Peak Heart & Vascular and a board-certified cardiologist with over a decade of experience practicing interventional cardiology in the Phoenix metropolitan area and northern Arizona. He is known for his advanced expertise in structural and interventional cardiology, providing innovative, patient-centered care for complex cardiovascular conditions.

Dr. Mehta earned his medical degree from Pramukh Swami Medical College in India before completing his internal medicine residency at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He then pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, followed by an advanced interventional cardiology fellowship at Winthrop University Hospital in Long Island, New York.

Dr. Mehta has extensive experience in performing structural heart and complex coronary interventions. His expertise includes transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), left atrial appendage occlusion (Watchman), and atrial septal defect (ASD) closure. He is also highly skilled in complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including treatment of chronic total occlusions, bifurcated lesions, and multivessel coronary disease, particularly in patients considered high-risk for surgery.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mehta is actively involved in cardiovascular research and has authored more than 20 scholarly articles, with half published as first author, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of interventional cardiology through evidence-based innovation and education.

Dr. Mehta is board-certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine. He is dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive cardiovascular care and improving outcomes for patients across the region.

I had a really great experience at this office. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming and professional, which made the visit comfortable from start to finish.
Dr. Mehta truly stood out to me. He's the first doctor l've seen in years-maybe even a decade who didn't spend the entire appointment staring at a laptop and typing while I talked. Instead, he was fully present, listening carefully and making me feel heard and understood. It was such a refreshing change of pace.
For once, I didn't feel like I was just another patient being processed or having my information entered into a computer. I felt like l was having a real conversation with someone who genuinely cared. I highly recommend this office.

Dr Mehta and office staff were very nice. I very much enjoyed my visit with Dr Mehta and felt very comfortable asking all my questions and he explained all his answers and did not feel rushed in any way.

After an unfortunate experience with another cardiology group we found Dr. Mehta, Dr. Patel and Peak for my mom who needed heart valve replacement surgery. From the first minute of her first appointment until surgery and then post-op, Dr. Mehta and Dr. Patel were exceptional. They reviewed her conditions, provided options, stayed informed about her test results, hospital stays and labs. We felt like my mom was their only patient and they would do everything necessary to restore her health. Words cannot adequately express our appreciation for the doctors and the entire staff at Peak Heart and Vascular. You are all amazing, talented medical professionals who really care about their patients and their heart health. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what you did for my mom. She now has a new heart valve and a new lease on life.
