Monica Rauton is a doctoral-prepared, board-certified Nurse Practitioner with nearly 35 years of experience in medicine and nursing, most of which has been in the cardiovascular field. She also has experience in family medicine, palliative care and hospice, and sleep medicine.
Monica earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, where she worked in the pre- and post-cardiac transplant units at University Medical Center. Shortly after becoming a nurse, she obtained her master’s degree and Nurse Practitioner certification from Arizona State University. After some time in practice, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at Arizona State University and later became a professor in the same program, continuing to practice and teach.
Monica has always prioritized patient needs, with one of her strengths being her ability to take the time to listen. She believes it is crucial to involve patients in their healthcare decisions.
